In Spring 2008 Dame Carol Black carried out a review of Britain's working age population - "Working for Healthier Tomorrow." This was to provide the government with suggestions of ways that they could help improve the health of the nation. In her report Dame Black concluded that there was insufficient access to support for people in the early stages of sickness and recommended that organisations could play a larger role in promoting good health.
DeltaNet has worked closely with Dr Rosemary Anderson (Ph.D., C.Psychol) to design and develop a suite of health and wellbeing e-learning courses that will assist individuals and organisations get to grips with preventing and managing stress in the workplace, and by doing so improving the health and performance of the organisation.
Rosemary Anderson is a Chartered Psychologist who has worked with the HSE on a number of their stress projects and is described by them as an expert in this field. The health and wellbeing e-learning courses have been developed on the back of many years research and proven face to face training.
The comprehensive suite of health and wellbeing e-learning courses has been carefully designed to meet the needs of the following three groups:
- Individuals use them as 'self help' tools that will allow them to build their own personal resilience to stress
- Managers use them to develop their knowledge and skills of health and wellbeing so that they can identify early signs and deal with issues in a proactive, timely and effective way. These modules focus on the business, moral and legal benefits as well as the manager's responsibilities
- HR, Health and Safety and Occupational Health experts use them to introduce and oversee the risk assessment process
Traditional health and wellbeing courses are expensive to run; take your employees away from the workplace and involve an administrative burden. Record keeping is a manual process making it more difficult to prove employees have been effectively trained in health and wellbeing.
Using an effective health and wellbeing e-learning programme is easily the most cost efficient method for rolling out health and wellbeing training; employees don’t have to take time away from the workplace to attend a health and wellbeing course; instead they can learn at a time and place to suit themselves.
